To date, ETFSA has always used ETPs, issued by other asset managers, as the building blocks for its products offered to the market.
Now, by using its own ETF, listed on the JSE, the company enters a new era.
The key features of the ETFSAB are:
- It is structured as a Regulation 28, Collective Investment Scheme, which is the key requirement for all retirement funds in South Africa.
- Its portfolio mirrors the Wealth Default portfolio offered to ETFSA Retirement Annuity and Living Annuity members for the past 5 years. The Wealth Default portfolio has delivered investment returns over this period, comfortably ahead of the average investment returns for the peer group offering similar high equity balanced funds.
- The Balanced Foundation AMETF provides a great core holding for tax-free and other discretionary investment accounts, as well as retirement investments, as it is a well-diversified multi-asset portfolio, with holdings in both South Africa and abroad.
